NPL_INTPA_Quality Education-leaving no one behind

This Action aims to improve the participation of civil society in the education sector to increase effective and inclusive implementation of the national education policy (Overall Objective-OO) by strengthening civil society’s role in promoting inclusive access to quality education for all (Specific Objective- SO), benefiting 70,211 (G: 38,127, B: 32,084) basic education-level school children from 10 Palikas in Madhesh, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces. Both the OO and SO are in line with the EU call’s Overall Objective and Specific Objective 2, as well as with the EU Delegation’s civil society engagement principles by promoting civil society organizations’ (CSOs) role in development, building CSOs’ voice and advocacy capacity, and promoting their participation in inclusive education policy implementation. The Action will have three main results: Output 1 - Opportunity costs and social-norm-driven barriers to accessing education are reduced through locally led solutions. Output 2 - Civil society and youth’s capacity to drive equity and inclusion in education is increased. Output 3 - Coordination between civil society and the three levels of Government in the education sector is enhanced.

To address this challenge, the 42-month Action “Leaving No One Behind: Strengthening Civil Society in Nepal to Drive Inclusive Access to Education for all Children” is proposed, which blends different skills, knowledge and expertise of Save the Children (SC) as Applicant, Nepal National Social Welfare Association (NNSWA), Save the Saptari (StS), Resource Centre for Rehabilitation and Development (RCRD) as Co-Applicants and Kathmandu University School of Education (KUSoED) as Associate.
