Important Information

Nepal National Social Welfare Association (NNSWA) established itself in 1990. In 1994, NNSWA registered with the District Administration Office Kanchanpur and affiliated to Social Welfare Council Kathmandu. NNSWA has grown over the years, implementing various integrated community based development programs in Sudhurpaschim province being one of the leading development organizations in Nepal.

PCESP-IQE Project

NNSWA Kanchanpur has been conducting child protection, sponsorship and inclusive quality education projects in 5 wards of Krishnapur municipality respectively ward no. 1, 2, 4, 7 and 9 in partnership with World Vision International Nepal. The project, which has been in operation since October 2022, is working with the goal of protecting, empowering and respecting children. It has been working with plans to have quality correspondence with sponsors for the wellbeing of children at most vulnerability, to work on minimum requirements plans for child protection, and to work at the basic level of school to promote inclusive and quality education in maintaining education for all. The main scope, nature and key achievements of the project so far are as detailed.

Major community groups, allince and networks with which the project works;

·       Reading Camp Facilitators (RCFs) - 50 female RCFs and 4 Lead RCF empowering more than 1150 children

·       Peer Educators - 5 female Peer educator empowering 600 children

·       Citizen Voice and Action Group (CVA) - 15 groups with 84 members engaging with school for advocating change in school

·       Child Right Committee (CRCs) – 5 CRCs in ward level and 1 in municipal level in engaging for child right and advocacy

·       CFLG Committee - CFLG committee in ward-1 is advocating for child right and working on 51 indicators
