Nepal National Social Welfare Association (NNSWA) established itself in 1990. In 1994, NNSWA registered with the District Administration Office Kanchanpur and affiliated to Social Welfare Council Kathmandu. NNSWA has grown over the years, implementing various integrated community based development programs in Sudhurpaschim province being one of the leading development organizations in Nepal.
Saving lives and building resilient livelihoods of the urban vulnerable population in Mahakali River Basin (SUDRIDH) is a 5-year project designed to reduce the impact of disasters and build community resilience in Bhimdutta, Dhodhara Chadani and Parsuram Municipality in Mahakali River Basin areas. This project is tending to create a synergy among the activities that areparticularly linked to reduce the disaster risk and enhance the livelihood capacity of climate-vulnerable communities along the Mahakali river basin covering three Municipalities. The specific objective of this project is to protect people’s livelihoods from shocks, and strengthen their capacity to absorb the impact of, and recover from, disruptive climate induced risks. The project will build the capacity of climate-vulnerable women, youth and smallholder farmers and create enabling environment for the adoption of sustainable livelihood strategies and integration of market system approach.
