Notice for Thesis Grant
NNSWA is implementing SUDRIDH project with the support from DCA in Bheemdatta and Dodhara Chandani Municipality of Kanchanpur district and Parashuram Municipality of Dadeldhura district. This project is tending to create a synergy among the activities that are particularly linked to reduce the disaster risk and enhance the livelihood capacity of climate-vulnerable communities along the Mahakali river basin covering three Municipalities. The project is currently working in three thematic areas: Disaster Risk Reduction, Climate change adaptation and resilient livelihood.
NNSWA SUDRIDH Project provides research grants to students from different universities on a competitive basis to enhance the young researchers’ skills and capacity and help them produce good quality research. These grants are provided to Master’s level students based on the quality of their proposals. Proposals would be evaluated on the basis of research quality: research relevance, clarity in methodology, practicability, and scientific/social importance and relevancy with the SUDRIDH Project.

· Traditional Knowledge and Practices in Climate Adaptation

Eligibility Criteria
- Students must have cleared the first year of a Master’s degree in any discipline
- Should be students studying at Nepali University
- Should possess Nepali citizenship
- The proposed research site should be in Kanchanpur and Dadeldhura Districts (Bheemdatt, Dodhara Chandani and Parashuram Municipality would receive preference)
Grant Information
The maximum amount for the grant is NPR. 50,000/- (Including taxes) and payment will be made as per the following schedule:
- 40% after the approval of the proposal and research plan
- 30% after completion of field visit and submission of the draft report
- 30% after presentation and submission of the thesis
Proposal Guideline
The proposal should be no more than 5-7 pages and should be in Times New Roman font with single spacing and font size of 12. It should include the following information:

Other Official Documents Required:
· Cover letter (1 page with research title, proposed supervisor, institution, amount requested, statement of interest)
· Curriculum vitae (CV) of the student with detailed contact address and phone number
· An official approval letter of Head of Department (HoD) or Supervisor from respective department or college with a valid authorized signature
· Digital copy of student’s identity card
