Kamlahari Practice Abolition Project
Project Description:
Kamalahari practices are suited in Dang, Bardiya, Banke, Surkhet, Kailali and Kanchanpur District. In Kanchanpur according to survey data there are more than 1,000 Kamalahari which is worst form of child labor. To abolish this practice, NNSWA is implementing Kamalahari Practice Abolition Project to abolish this practice within five years as per its main goal. This Project is delivered through three essential aspects; such as Gender and Child Rights (Awareness), Learning Program and Livelihood Program comprising :
· Community participation and mobilization
· Capacity building of community groups
· Collaboration and coordination with likeminded organizations
· Advocacy and lobby
· Awareness of anti group (Kamalahari using group)
· Sustainable Support Package for Kamalahari
· Legal Support to Kamalahari
Activities covered/Program focus area :
· Rescue Kamalahari girls with the support of District Administrative Office
· Develop Network against the Kamalahari
· Provide scholarship to Kamalahari girls
· Provide coaching and tuition facilities to Kamalahari girls
· Create learning without fare environment at school
· Support income generating program for Kamalahari and their families
· Develop cooperative among Kamalahari family.
· Provide life skill education
