Important Information

Nepal National Social Welfare Association (NNSWA) established itself in 1990. In 1994, NNSWA registered with the District Administration Office Kanchanpur and affiliated to Social Welfare Council Kathmandu. NNSWA has grown over the years, implementing various integrated community based development programs in Sudhurpaschim province being one of the leading development organizations in Nepal.

Support Participatory Constitution Building Process

Project Description:

In Nepal for a long time people had been demanding full democracy through Constituent Assembly and as a result of long democratic struggle CA election held in Nepal on 27 Chaitra 2064 and 601 member CA was formed. CA made 11 various thematic committees to have constitutional provisions. CA itself and many national and international institutions came forward to assist CA to make people’s participation in constitution building. In this context UNDP/SPCBN launched the Democratic Dialogues Programs in Nepal. With the support of United Nations Development Program (UNDP)/ Support for Participatory Constitution Building in Nepal (SPCBN) Civil Society Outreach, Nepal National Welfare Association (NNSWA) launched the Democratic Dialogue Program with its partner NGOs in four concerning districts of Mahakali Zone –Kanchanpur, Dadeldhura, Baitadi and Darchula from December 5, 2009 to November 30, 2010. Again the program duration was extended to complete the remaining works for a short period.
